Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason, I do not accept the authority of Popes and councils [or scientists], for they have contradicted each other, my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe.
PEARL stands for Platform Encouraging AUTONOMY, REFORMATION and LIBERTY. It is specifically for those who wish to be a part of God’s remnant people – what remains of the original obedient cloth that God made Adam and Eve in the likeness of. This movement was started to address statements published under beliefs on the official website of the Seventh-day Adventist church that place Peer-Reviewed Science on equal footing with, or even above the Bible. It also seeks to address the union with the United Nations.
Who are we? What is the SDAPEARL movement about? We are lay Seventh-day Adventist members in good standing, concerned about the usurpation of God’s authority and His Word by the General Conference executive and its committees, producing statements to the detriment of the religious liberty of individual members across the global SDA footprint. We are also very concerned about the impact that this non-protestant approach has on our evangelistic outreach efforts. Find out more in this video.
